The pan does not need to be set in mortar. The pan can
sit directly on the subfloor
with a flexible adhesive (e.g. silicone) used between the pan and subfloor.
The pan must be level across the bottom or it will
not drain properly.
Do not nail the flange to the studs. The flange must be intact to make
the pan watertight. |

All of our pans use a standard shower drain.
The drain can be brass as shown or PVC.
